On Oct. 21, we’re hosting the first-ever MinnPost Tonight, a LIVE professional broadcast event featuring cultural luminaries discussing their work and what it means to be a Minnesotan, all while raising critical funding for MinnPost’s public-service newsroom.
Today, we’re spotlighting Nancy Lyons, a Minnesota tech CEO and self-described “proud weirdo.” Lyons is the co-founder of Clockwork, a Minneapolis-based digital agency, and an advocate for making workplace cultures more human-centered. Her most recent book, “Work Like a Boss: A Kick-In-The-Pants Guide to Finding (and Using) Your Power at Work,” was published in 2020, as many people shifted to working from home and the boundaries between personal and professional lives were blurred. Lyons argues that people should be more empowered to bring their whole selves to their work and that fear is a major impediment to innovation.
With over 25 years of experience as a tech executive, Lyons has established herself as a civic leader in Minnesota, serving on numerous boards of directors and receiving numerous awards and recognitions, including:
- 100 People to Know from Twin Cities Business
- 101 most influential people in the world of work, management, and career from Ladder magazine
- Most Admired CEO from Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal
